WWE Fantasy League 2023-2024 Season

Posted by Callum Wiggins - Saturday, May 6, 2023

Welcome to your source for tracking the 2023-2024 season of the WWE Fantasy League here at Smark Out Moment!

Who doesn't enjoy some friendly competition? Tony Mango, Callum Wiggins and Robert DeFelice are looking to battle their way to victory in the return of the WWE Fantasy League.

Think of this as any typical Fantasy League – every player is looking to pick the team of WWE superstars that is going to earn them the most points between Backlash 2023 and WrestleMania 40, with points earned for appearances, victories and championship successes.

With 3 teams drafted from across the Raw, SmackDown and NXT rosters, points will be won and lost on the journey to crowning this season's champion, and to secure bragging rights among the Smack Talk crew.

THE RULES

These are the rules that we will be abiding by for this season of the Fantasy League in relation to how the teams are drafted, how trades are made, and how points are scored. If you're keen on creating your own Fantasy League among friends, feel free to use our rules as your guide.

LEAGUE / DRAFT / TRADE RULES

  • Teams are drafted from across the entirety of the Raw, SmackDown and NXT rosters
  • Each competitor will select 10 superstars from the available rosters on the week prior to Backlash in snake-style draft
  • These will be the core of the teams for the entirety of the season
  • The first 5 picks of each team are 100% protected, and cannot be removed unless the player themself chooses to remove them – in this instance, they can designate another superstar to be a protected pick
  • All players must draft a minimum of 3 women in the initial draft, and must draft at least 1 NXT superstar
  • Both male and female superstars are eligible
  • Tag teams, factions and stables are NOT drafted as units – each superstar must be picked individually
  • Points are only scored for results on pay-per-views and episodes of Raw, SmackDown and NXT – anything that happens on Main Event, Level Up, etc. doesn't count
  • Following every WWE PPV event (main roster only), 1 new superstar will be drafted to each team, with the first pick going to the winner of the PPV prediction contest
To add a bit more jeopardy into the mix, there are also special rules based on our success in every pay-per-view predictions contest:
  • People with 1 PPV prediction victory can trade 1 of their existing superstars away for a new superstar alongside the monthly addition to their teams – this remains the case for the remainder of the season
  • People with 2 PPV prediction victories can trade 2 of their existing superstars away for 2 new superstars alongside the monthly addition to their teams – this remains the case for the remainder of the season
  • People with 3 PPV prediction victories can force an opponent to trade away 1 of their unprotected picks, as well as trade away up to 2 of their own team members – this only happens once
  • If someone has 4 or more PPV prediction victories, they can choose from the following rewards:
    • They can force both of their opponents to trade out 1 of their unprotected picks
    • They can trade one of their team for another of an opponent's unprotected picks
    • They can double their team's points for one week prior to the next PPV (not counting the PPV week)

POINTS – TV

  • Appearing on a show = 1 point
  • No appearance = -1 point
  • Winning a match in any fashion = 3 points
  • Losing a match in any fashion = -1 point
  • Draw or no contest = 0 points

POINTS – PPV

  • Appearing on a show = 2 points
  • Winning a match in any fashion = 5 points
  • Losing a match in any fashion = -1 point
  • Draw or no contest = 0 points

POINTS – SPECIAL RESULTS

Superstars will win bonus points for the following outcomes:

  • Winning a TV Battle Royal = 3 points
  • Winning a PPV Battle Royal = 5 points
  • Winning a Tournament = 7 points
  • Winning Money in the Bank = 10 points
  • Winning an Elimination Chamber = 10 points
  • Surviving a Survivor Series Elimination Tag = 3 points
  • Winning a Royal Rumble = 15 points

POINTS – CHAMPIONSHIPS

World Titles = WWE Undisputed Universal, WWE World Heavyweight, NXT, Raw/SmackDown/NXT Women's
Midcard Titles = Intercontinental, United States, North American, Heritage Cup
Tag Team Titles = Raw, SmackDown, NXT, Women's, NXT Women's
  • Winning a World Title = 10 points
  • Winning a Midcard Title or Tag Team Title = 5 points
  • Successful Title Defense = 3 points

POINTS – WIN/LOSS RECORDS

At the end of the season, the year's win/loss record of each superstar on your final team will be determined.

If the superstar has a positive win record, they will earn points equivalent to the difference between their wins and losses multiplied by 5. For example, if a superstar's final win-loss record is 38-33, the superstar will gain 25 points (38 - 33 = 5, 5 x 5 = 25).

However, if the superstar accrues more losses than wins during the season, they will lose points in the same way. For example, if a superstar's final win-loss record is 18-21, the superstar will lose 15 points (21 - 18 = 3, 3 x 5 = 15).

POINTS DEDUCTIONS

If a superstar drafted to someone's team is released from WWE during the Fantasy League, the team in question will instantly lose 50 points.

Posted by Callum Wiggins - Saturday, May 7, 2022

Welcome to your source for tracking the 2022-2022 season of the WWE Fantasy League here at Smark Out Moment!

Who doesn't enjoy some friendly competition? Tony Mango, Callum Wiggins and Robert DeFelice are looking to battle their way to victory in the return of the WWE Fantasy League.

Think of this as any typical Fantasy League – every player is looking to pick the team of WWE superstars that is going to earn them the most points between WrestleMania Backlash 2022 and WrestleMania 39, with points earned for appearances, victories and championships successes.

  • Teams have been drafted from across the entirety of the Raw, SmackDown and NXT rosters – 168 superstars drafted, 56 superstars to each team
  • These will be our rosters for the entirety of the season, unless trades are made in accordance with the PPV prediction contests outlined below
  • The first 10 superstars drafted on each person's team are "protected picks" – this means that they can never be traded for by an opposing player in any circumstance
  • Both male and female superstars are eligible
  • Tag teams, factions and stables are NOT drafted as units – each superstar must be picked individually
  • Points are only scored for results on pay-per-views and episodes of Raw, SmackDown and NXT 2.0 – anything that happens on Main Event, 205 Live, NXT UK, etc. doesn't count
  • Snake-style draft

To add a bit more jeopardy into the mix, there are also special rules based on our success in every pay-per-view predictions contest:

  • The winner of a single PPV predictions contest will be able to double the points accrued by one of their roster members up to (and including) the next PPV, or halve the points accrued by someone on an opponent's roster up to (and including) the next PPV
  • If someone wins 2 consecutive PPV predictions, they can both double the points accrued by one of their roster members up to (and including) the next PPV AND halve the points accrued by someone on an opponent's roster up to (and including) the next PPV
  • If someone wins 3 consecutive PPV predictions, they earn the right to trade one of unprotected roster members for someone else's unprotected roster members – this can be absolutely anyone, including people released from WWE earlier in the year
  • In case of a tie in PPV predictions, the winner is determined by a prediction of the length of one of the matches on the card, with the guess closest to the actual time winning.

POINTS – TV

  • Appearances on Raw, SmackDown or NXT 2.0 in any fashion earns someone 1 point
  • A victory in a match on Raw, SmackDown or NXT 2.0 in any fashion (pinfall, submission, count out, DQ, etc.) earns someone 2 points
  • No points are awarded or taken away for losses, ties and no contests

POINTS – PPV

  • Appearances on a WWE PPV or NXT special event in any fashion earns someone 2 points
  • A victory in a match on a WWE PPV or NXT special event in any fashion (pinfall, submission, count out, DQ, etc.) earns someone 3 points

POINTS – SPECIAL RESULTS

Superstars will win 10 bonus points for the following outcomes:

  • They win a Royal Rumble
  • They win Money in the Bank
  • They win an Elimination Chamber
  • They win a tournament (e.g. King of the Ring)
  • They survive a Survivor Series Elimination Tag Match

Furthermore, at the end of the year, any superstars that have earned points in every single week of the Fantasy League Season will earn an additional 10 points.

WWE Fantasy League 2021-2022 Season

Posted by Callum Wiggins - Saturday, May 15, 2021

Welcome to your source for tracking the 2021-2022 season of the WWE Fantasy League here at Smark Out Moment!

Who doesn't enjoy some friendly competition? Tony Mango, Callum Wiggins and Robert DeFelice are looking to battle their way to victory in the return of the WWE Fantasy League.

Think of this as any typical Fantasy League – every player is looking to pick the team of WWE superstars that is going to earn them the most points between WrestleMania Backlash 2021 and WrestleMania 38, with points earned for victories and championship success, and lost for defeats, DQs and unsuccessful title defenses.

With 3 teams of 12 superstars drafted from across the Raw, SmackDown and NXT rosters, points will be won and lost on the journey to crowning this season's champion, and to secure bragging rights among the Smack Talk crew.

  • Teams consist of 12 superstars, with 6 members of your "active" weekly roster
  • These 12 superstars will be your team for the duration between each WWE PPV
  • Superstars can only be in your active roster for a maximum of 2 consecutive weeks before they must be rested for a week
  • The first draft pick is the Team Captain, who cannot be stolen or removed from a team unless the player that drafted them chooses to drop them
  • Wrestlers can only be selected from the Raw, SmackDown or NXT rosters
  • Both male and female superstars are eligible
  • Tag teams, factions and stables are NOT drafted as units. Each superstar must be picked individually.
  • Points are only scored for results on pay-per-views and episodes of Raw, SmackDown and NXT. Anything that happens on Main Event, 205 Live, NXT UK, etc. doesn't count
  • Snake-style draft
  • Trades only occur following the WWE PPVs (not NXT TakeOvers)

To add a bit more jeopardy into the mix, there are also special rules based on our success in every pay-per-view predictions contest:

  • The winner of a single PPV predictions contest will have the chance to make up to 3 trades from their current 12 superstars for people in Free Agency. Second place in the contest can make 2 trades, while last place can only make 1 trade.
  • If someone wins 2 consecutive PPV predictions, they can force a member of an opponent's team to become a Free Agent. The chosen superstar is frozen from being drafted until the next WWE PPV. The person who loses a team member will immediately draft a replacement. The only safe team members are the Team Captains.
  • If someone wins 3 consecutive PPV predictions, they earn the right to trade one of their team members for an opponent's. Again, only Team Captains are safe from being traded.
  • In case of a tie in PPV predictions, the winner is determined by a prediction of the length of one of the matches on the card, with the guess closest to the actual time winning.

WWE Fantasy League 2020-2021 Season

Posted by Callum Wiggins - Friday, August 28, 2020

Welcome to your source for tracking the 2020-2021 season of the WWE Fantasy League here at Smark Out Moment!

Who doesn't enjoy some friendly competition? Tony Mango, Callum Wiggins, Robert DeFelice and Stephen Wago are looking to battle their way to victory in the return of the WWE Fantasy League.

Think of this as any typical Fantasy League – every player is looking to pick the team of WWE superstars that is going to earn them the most points between SummerSlam 2020 and WrestleMania 37, with points earned for victories and championship success, and lost for defeats, DQs and unsuccessful title defenses.

With 4 teams of 8 superstars drafted from across the Raw, SmackDown and NXT rosters, points will be won and lost on the journey to crowning this season's champion, and to secure bragging rights among the Smack Talk crew.

  • Teams consist of 8 superstars

  • Points are only scored for results on pay-per-views and episodes of Raw, SmackDown and NXT. Anything that happens on Main Event, 205 Live, NXT UK, etc. doesn't count
  • Snake-style draft
  • 1 trade can be made per week by each participant. These can be traded between teams or from the Free Agent Pool
  • First dibs on trades will depend on when someone made their last trade. The least recent trader will go first and so on.

To add a bit more jeopardy into the mix, there are also special rules based on our success in every pay-per-view predictions contest:

  • The winner of a single PPV predictions contest gets an extra Free Agent trade that they can perform at any time until the following PPV. If that extra trade is not used by the next PPV, it is voided
  • If someone wins 2 consecutive PPV predictions, they earn the right to force an opponent to trade one of their team for a Free Agent. The traded-in superstar immediately becomes available to be drafted by everyone else
  • If someone wins 3 consecutive PPV predictions, they earn the right to force a trade between members of 2 teams. This could involve their own team, or they could force a trade between 2 opposing teams
  • In case of a tie in PPV predictions, the winner is determined by a prediction of the length of one of the matches on the card, with the guess closest to the actual time winning

POINTS – TV MATCH RESULTS

  • Victory by pinfall, submission or KO +10 (+8 if scored by partner in a tag team match)
